Subject: [ballyalley] Custom Controller

I bought a system recently that had a few items with it that I was interested in. One of them was a wood controller. I thought that it was going to be a piece of wood that was carved to be shaped like a controller. But it looks like someone decided to try to make functioning controller.

The handle and trigger are made of wood. The handle is two halves screwed together. There are a couple pins in the handle to hold the trigger and parts inside. The internal parts for the joystick are in a pill bottle. The joystick and trigger wire are run through the lid. The joystick only moves left and right. On the bottom of the bottle is the connector. It is held in with a nut and lock washer.

There was another controller in the box that has the same connector added to the end. They added a female connector to original cable. I plugged the controller into the wire and tried it. The controller does work. In Gunfight you can only move left and right. Movement and the trigger worked fine. You can't change the direction that you're aiming. It was aiming up when I started the game.

This is the weirdest gaming item that I've ever come across. It is a novelty item but I'm still going to display it on the shelf with my systems.
